Introduction

Welcome to ScriptCam. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience while using our mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use ScriptCam.

By using ScriptCam, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Information We Collect

Account Information

Email Address: Used when you choose to create an account, sign in, or reset your password.
Name: Optional, for personalization.
Account Identifier: Used to associate your account, synced library, subscription status, and notification preferences.
Authentication Credentials: Managed by Convex Auth. ScriptCam does not store or display your readable password.

Subscription Information

Payment Information: Processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Subscription Status: Whether you have an active Pro subscription.
Purchase History: Product and entitlement records used to provide, restore, and verify purchases through RevenueCat.

User Content

Script and Library Data: Scripts, folders, sections, tags, import details, and take metadata are stored locally. If you sign in, supported library data is also synced to Convex so it can be restored across sessions.
Video Recordings: Recordings you create using the camera feature — stored locally on your device.
AI Inputs and Outputs: Prompts, script text, imported transcripts, and generated responses are sent through our Convex proxy to the AI provider needed for the feature you request.
Voice and Audio Data: When you request cloud transcription, the selected audio is sent through our Convex proxy to a speech-to-text provider. We do not use that audio for advertising.

Automatically Collected Information

App and Device Information: Platform, app version, device or installation identifiers, and similar technical information used by our subscription, authentication, and notification providers.
Service Usage: AI usage counts, subscription events, and operational records needed to enforce limits and provide requested features.
Push Token: If you allow notifications while signed in, an Expo push token and platform are stored so service notifications can be delivered.

What We Do NOT Collect

No browsing history outside the App
No access to other apps on your device
No contact list access
No precise location collection
No photo library scanning or automatic upload of your photo library
No microphone access except during active recording
No advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking

How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the App
To process subscriptions and restore purchases
To provide AI-powered features (script generation, speech tracking)
To send important account or service updates
To sync your library when you choose to sign in
To deliver notifications when you grant permission
To enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability
To comply with legal obligations

Data Storage and Security

Recordings are stored locally on your device unless you explicitly invoke a feature that sends selected audio for processing. Scripts are stored locally; supported library data is also stored in Convex when you sign in. Data sent between the App and our service providers is encrypted in transit. We retain account and synced data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Local recordings and other local files remain under your device's storage controls and can be deleted from the App or your device.

Account and Data Deletion

To delete your ScriptCam account from the App, sign in, open Settings, choose the account deletion option, and confirm the request. You can also request account deletion or deletion of specific server-side data by emailing contact@scriptcam.app from the email address associated with your account.

Account deletion removes your Convex Auth account and sessions, synced scripts, folders, sections, take metadata, AI usage records, entitlement records, and stored push tokens. ScriptCam does not upload your video recordings, so local videos must be deleted from the App or your device. We may retain limited records when required by law, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to resolve disputes. Requests are processed after identity verification and normally completed within 30 days.

Third-Party Services

Convex and Convex Auth: Authentication, cloud library sync, usage limits, push-token storage, and secure proxying of requested AI features
RevenueCat: Subscription management, entitlement verification, and purchase restoration
AI and media-processing providers: Depending on the feature and available fallback, ScriptCam may use OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, Groq, or ElevenLabs to process prompts, text, or audio you submit
Expo: Push-notification token issuance and delivery infrastructure
Apple and Google: Platform sign-in where selected, app distribution, in-app purchases, and store services

These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies and only as needed to provide the feature or service involved. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Opt out of non-essential communications
Data portability where technically feasible

Children's Privacy

ScriptCam is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. Your continued use of ScriptCam after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
